Overview

Sunray Power Company will be presenting Basic Solar Training in Lusaka on 14 & 15 March 2019, followed by a Solar Installation Workshop on 18, 19 & 20 March 2019. These events are geared towards technical staff involved with the design, installation and maintenance of solar systems as well as re-sellers of solar equipment. It will cover the basics of solar power and equip attendants with the knowledge to design and install solar systems. The events are ideally suited for individuals who want to start their own solar business, or anyone interested in solar technology.

Presenter

Dr. Gideon Greyvenstein has been an engineering educator and researcher for more than 25 years. He has extensive industrial experience, having worked as consultant for companies such as Eskom, Sasol and Boeing. He also served as Engineering Manager of the nuclear company PBMR, which is a subsidiary of Eskom.

Assistant Presenter

Mr. Tymen Nagel holds a Bachelors’ degree in mechanical engineering. He worked as project engineer at Kentz Engineers and Constructors, before joining Sunray in 2013. He is currently Senior Project Engineer at Sunray where he led the design and installation of several solar projects.

Certificate of Achievement

Participants can choose to write an exam at the end of the basic training after which they will receive a certificate of achievement upon successful completion. They will also be assessed on the practical work done during the installation workshop.
