Energy Pods (15-45 kVA)
The Energy Pods are modular, All-in-One BESS systems, designed for rural electrification, mini-grids, and backup power. Ranging from 15kVA to 45kVA with battery storage ranging from 16kWh to 65kWh per pod, they combine advanced Victron inverters and lithium battery technology for reliable, scalable energy wherever it’s needed most.
They all come in a sturdy air-conditioned IP55 cabinet and are normally installed under a canopy to protect it against severe weather conditions.

Bespoke Containerized PCS/BESS Systems
Sunray has the knowhow and capability to design and build bespoke containerized PCS/BESS systems. Containers are typically well insulated and air-conditioned. We also offer an optional fire suppression system and ventilation fan for heat rejection in case of failure of the air-conditioning system. We typically use high-quality bi-directional grid-forming inverters such as Victron, which allows for both AC and DC PV coupling.
All-in-one BESS (50 kW - 500 kW)
An attractive option for mid-range applications is SAJ’s CHS2 system, specifically tailored for the African market.
CHS2 is suitable for various scenarios such as large residential areas, supermarkets, farms, small factories and mini-grids. It integrates functions such as power generation, conversion, storage, and utilization. With its high-end hardware configuration and intelligent IoT software, CHS2 supports various application modes such as self-consumption, time-of-use, backup mode and off-grid applications. It meets daily usage scenarios and can also connect with other devices such as diesel generators, helping owners achieve more stable, secure, and economical electricity needs.
The unit is rated IP55 while the inverter is rated IP 66. It features Integrated Air Conditioning, Fire Suppression & Smart Monitoring for Maximum Safety & Efficiency.
Each CHS2-50K-T6-X unit features 6 x MPPTs, each of which accommodates 2 PV strings for a total of 12 strings.
The CHS2 system is extremely flexible. One can connect up to 10 units in parallel for a total power output of up to 500 kW. One can also expand the battery capacity of each CHS2 by adding 3 additional 100 kWh battery packs for a total storage capacity of 400 kWh per CHS2 unit.
The CHS2 system can operate in both on-grid and off-grid mode and is ideal for mini-grids in rural areas.
